STEAM Saturday – Presented by Jackson Symphony Music Academy

Experience the joy of music at April’s STEAM Saturday, featuring a fun and interactive program led by the Jackson Symphony Music Academy. Guests of all ages are invited to explore the world of music through hands-on activities and a live performance in an engaging, family-friendly setting. 

During the Instrument Petting Zoo, instructors will guide participants on how to properly hold and play a variety of instruments, giving guests the opportunity to touch, feel and try them for themselves. Following this interactive experience, guests can enjoy a live musical performance in Dinosaur Hall. As a proud JSMA Regional Music Center, Discovery Park of America is committed to bringing classical music and performance opportunities to children and families across the region. 

Schedule:

Instrument Petting Zoo in Tennessee Room from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

Live Performance in Dinosaur Hall from 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

You will discover: 

• How to hold and play different musical instruments  

• The unique sounds and roles of various instruments  

• Hands-on experience with real instruments  

• The excitement of a live musical performance  

STEAM Saturday is part of Discovery Park’s ongoing series highlighting science, technology, engineering, art and math through engaging, educational programming designed for learners of all ages. 

This event is free with Discovery Park admission or membership.
