SUMMARY:2026 Celebration of Native American Culture
DESCRIPTION:An Event Honoring Native Music and Traditions\n\n\nJoin us at Discovery Park for a two-day festival celebrating Native American history\, traditions and culture. Now in its fourth year\, the event features performances\, activities and educational experiences for all ages. Events will take place on the south side of the park over two days. \nEvent Highlights\nTraditional Powow: Witness the energy and beauty of Native American dance. Performers will showcase traditional regalia and share the stories behind each movement during two sessions on Saturday. \nStorytelling Sessions: Enjoy captivating tales passed down through generations\, bringing the history and values of Native American tribes to life. \nFull Park Activation: Learn about Native American culture from JC Stahlman and Living Historians in The Settlement. \nVendor/Activities Tent: Explore the entire park\, where vendors will feature Native American crafts\, goods and interactive activities while demonstrators and others fill up the entire park and its grounds. \nArt and Craft Demonstrations: Watch skilled artisans create intricate beadwork\, pottery and other traditional crafts. \nEducational Exhibits: Discover displays that highlight the history\, innovations and contributions of Native American communities. \nInteractive Workshops: Participate in hands-on activities such as learning Native American songs\, drumming or creating simple crafts inspired by traditional designs. \nFood and Beverages: Enjoy a selection of Native American dishes and beverages\, available for purchase from Native American food vendors. \n\nPowwow on Saturday\, Sept. 19\n9-11:30 a.m. | Participant Registration \n10 a.m.-7 p.m. | Extended Park Hours \n12-2 p.m. | Dance Session 1 \n3-4 p.m. | Break \n4-7 p.m. | Dance Session 2 \nTicket Information\nNative Americans with a CDIB or any other certificate of tribal affiliation card will receive free admission.  \nSchool groups will receive free admission on Friday\, Sept. 18. \nThis event is free with membership or park admission. \n\nDon’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Native American communities. DESCRIPTION:Looking for the most unusual fall race in the world?\n\n\nLace up for the 2026 Discovery Dash on Saturday\, Oct. 10\, 2026\, at Discovery Park of America. This year\, experience the 50-acre heritage park in full autumn splendor\, complete with crisp fall air and The Settlement transformed into a festive Pumpkin Village. \nThe route meanders through a man-made river\, waterfalls\, bridges and other scenic features. No other course lets you dash past a 120-year-old church\, an 1800s frontier settlement\, a reproduction of an early 19th-century town and a complete vintage train station. \nFrom race-day check-in and pre-race entertainment to the inflatable archway finish line\, finisher certificates and winner medals\, you won’t want to miss a moment. \nAwards will be presented in the 5K and 10K for males and females in the following age categories: \n12 and under13-1920-2930-3940-4950-5960-6970 and over \nSchedule: \n6:30-7:45 a.m. — Registration8 a.m. — 10K begins8:30 a.m. — 5K begins9 a.m. — 1-mile fun run begins9:30 a.m. — Awards ceremony \nRegistration for the 5K and 1-mile fun run before Aug. 31 is $25 and includes a Discovery Dash T-shirt and two complimentary admission tickets to Discovery Park for the day. Beginning Sept. 1\, registration increases to $30\, and T-shirts will be available while supplies last. \nRegistration for the 10K before Aug. 31 is $30 and includes a Discovery Dash T-shirt and two complimentary admission tickets to Discovery Park for the day.
