Learn more about the importance of agriculture in our world today at Discovery Park’s Discovery Ag Day celebration on Tuesday\, Feb. 24. \nAg Discovery Day will feature greenhouse lessons and a wide range of community agriculture vendors representing higher education\, conservation\, food systems and local producers. The event is structured to serve younger students in the morning and older students in the afternoon\, allowing lessons to align with developmental levels and science standards.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nGreenhouse Lessons Highlight Real-World Science\nWe’re excited for another year of interactive activities in our Farm Credit Mid-America Greenhouses. \n“All About Plants: From Roots to Leaves.”  \nThis hands-on experience introduces young learners to how plants grow\, what they need to survive\, and why greenhouses are important. Students will explore real plants—from familiar favorites to unique varieties—learn about plant parts and their functions\, and conclude the lesson by drawing and labeling a plant or planting one of their own. \n“Earth’s Natural Blanket: The Greenhouse Effect.”  \nThis interactive lesson explores how greenhouses—and Earth itself—trap heat to support life.
